Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has appointed two senior police officers to strategic positions within the Nigeria Police Force, aimed at enhancing the Force’s efficiency and international crime-fighting collaboration.
In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said AIG Yetunde Longe has been named the Force Secretary, where she will oversee secretarial functions at Force Headquarters, implement IGP policies and directives, and coordinate senior police officers’ affairs.
AIG Idowu Owohunwa has been assigned to the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. He will focus on strengthening international police cooperation and ensuring Nigeria meets its global INTERPOL obligations.
The IGP commended both officers for their dedication, highlighting their new roles as a testament to their exceptional abilities and the trust placed in them by the Force. These appointments are effective immediately, following the retirement of their predecessors.
