IGP attends world police summit in Dubai

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is representing Nigeria at the World Police Summit 2025, currently taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from May 13 to 16.

According to Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the summit, themed “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing,” brings together global law enforcement leaders, security professionals, and policymakers to explore innovative strategies, partnerships, and technologies shaping the future of policing.

IGP Egbetokun’s participation highlights Nigeria’s strong commitment to global security cooperation, intelligence-driven policing, and modernization of law enforcement practices. He engaged in high-level talks with police chiefs and security heads from other nations, focusing on cross-border intelligence sharing, joint operations, and training exchange programs aimed at tackling cybercrime and enhancing border security.

The summit also features exhibitions of cutting-edge policing technologies, workshops on predictive policing and digital forensics, and sessions on community policing and digital identity systems—areas the IGP identified as critical to Nigeria’s evolving security framework.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its dedication to raising the bar in professionalism, service delivery, and international collaboration. The IGP’s participation in the summit is seen as a strategic step toward aligning the nation’s policing standards with global best practices and strengthening its capacity to address modern security challenges.
