IGP Egbetokun attends INTERPOL conference in South Africa, strengthens global security ties

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is participating in the 27th INTERPOL African Regional Conference in South Africa, a strategic forum aimed at bolstering international cooperation against transnational crime.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters Abuja DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the conference has brought together over 200 police chiefs and security leaders from 56 countries to deliberate on intelligence-sharing, cross-border policing, and strategies to address emerging security threats.

Egbetokun is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on “Cattle Theft in West Africa: A Conduit for Terrorism and CBRNE Threats”, highlighting the links between organized crime, terrorism financing, and emerging chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) threats in the sub-region.

On the sidelines, the IGP will hold bilateral meetings with INTERPOL President, Major General Naser Alraisi, and Secretary General, Mr. Valdecy Urquiza, to consolidate operational partnerships, deepen intelligence exchange, and reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to regional and global security collaboration.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its readiness to remain a trusted partner in international law enforcement while safeguarding lives and property at home and abroad.
