IGP Egbetokun, Bahamas police commissioner strengthen security ties

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Thursday hosted the National Police Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Shanta Emily Knowles, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja as part of efforts to deepen international security cooperation.

According to Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, during the courtesy visit, both police chiefs held strategic discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in key areas of modern law enforcement, including intelligence sharing, capacity building, training, border security, and broader security partnership frameworks.

IGP Egbetokun lauded the renewed cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Police Force, noting that strengthened international partnerships would help tackle transnational crimes more effectively. He said joint training initiatives and knowledge exchange would significantly boost policing efficiency and national security outcomes for both countries.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the two institutions to building stronger operational ties in the collective fight against global security threats.
