IGP orders clampdown on Borno police station attackers

In a decisive reaction to the explosion attack on Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State, which occurred on January 9, 2025, at approximately 12:10 am, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has condemned the assault that resulted in the deaths of Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the IGP has expressed profound condolences to the families of the fallen officers, ensuring that their sacrifices will not be forgotten and that their benefits and entitlements will be swiftly disbursed to their families.

To address this heinous act, the IGP has ordered the Zone 15 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to deploy necessary resources and collaborate with other security agencies to track down the attackers and ensure they face justice.

As the investigation proceeds, the IGP reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to maintaining national security and ensuring those responsible for such disruptions are held accountable.
