 IGP pays tribute to late CP Fatai Adio Shittu

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., has conveyed profound condolences on behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force following the demise of Retired Commissioner of Police Fatai Adio Shittu on November 17, 2023.

In an official statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Inspector-General of Police praised the late CP Shittu as a distinguished officer who served the nation with honor and dedication in various capacities across different states. The statement described CP Shittu’s impactful career, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigeria Police Force.

CP Shittu’s unwavering commitment to duty was notably evident during his tenures as CP Welfare, Provost, and CP Zamfara State Police Command until his retirement in August 2011. His dedication reflected a steadfast pursuit of purpose in service to the nation.

Born on August 23, 1950, in Offa, Kwara State, CP Shittu’s educational journey took him from Offa Grammar School to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he pursued studies in History. Joining the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet in 1979, he served diligently in various states, including Kebbi, Ondo, Lagos, Imo, Cross River, Delta, Zamfara, Ogun, Ebonyi, Abuja, Edo, among others.

The Inspector-General of Police extended sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of CP Fatai Adio Shittu.
