In a remarkable humanitarian effort, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has successfully repatriated a total of 160 distressed Nigerian individuals from Libya, offering a glimmer of hope to those who have faced untold hardships. Among the returnees, 60 were women and 95 were men, and the operation also included the safe return of three male children and one female child.
The chartered Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800, bearing the registration number 5A-DMG, played a pivotal role in facilitating the return of these vulnerable individuals. The aircraft touched down at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Ikeja at approximately 2100 hours local time, marking the culmination of an intricate and compassionate operation.

Several key agencies, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Refugee Commission, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and the Federal Ministry of Labour, were present on the ground to provide vital assistance during the repatriation process.
