Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the esteemed Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), declared a concerted effort to bolster the organization’s surveillance capabilities to ensure the fulfillment of its crucial mandate. This announcement was made on Friday, October 20, 2023, during the graduation ceremony of the second batch training of drone pilots for troops in Sector 1, held in Ndjamena.

Ndjamena, Chad Lieutenant Col. Abubakar Abdullahi said the graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the MNJTF, showcasing the commitment to enhancing its capabilities and strategic partnerships. Notably, the European Union, through the Stablac Project of the COGINTA Non-governmental Organization, donated two long-range drones and a vehicle to the MNJTF, further augmenting its surveillance assets.
General Ali expressed his profound gratitude for the collaborative endeavors and ongoing partnerships with the European Union. He underscored the importance of such cooperation in advancing the core objectives of the MNJTF, particularly in ensuring the security and stability of the region.
In reaffirming the MNJTF’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate, General Ali commended the collective efforts of all sectors within the MNJTF in their commitment to improving regional security. He also harkened back to a similar donation earlier this year, where two drones and a utility vehicle were presented to Sector 2 in Chad in July.
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) is entrusted with the responsibility to establish a secure and safe environment in areas affected by the activities of Boko Haram and other extremist groups. It plays a pivotal role in facilitating the implementation of comprehensive stabilization programs by member states of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and supports humanitarian operations in the region.
The MNJTF, under the leadership of General Ali, is intensifying its surveillance capabilities and fostering key collaborations to successfully carry out its mandate and secure the region.
