In a proactive effort to ensure the safe return of its students for the holidays, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, authorized the airlift of students from Air Force Military School (AFMS) and Air Force Girls Military School (AFGMS) in Jos, Plateau State, to various states across Nigeria.

According to Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the operation, which began on August 3, 2024, utilized the C-130 heavy-lift aircraft to transport a total of 582 students to destinations including Abuja, Enugu, Ilorin, Kaduna, Kano, Makurdi, Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Yola. The Nigerian Air Force has also made arrangements for their return to Jos at the end of the holiday period.
He said this initiative underscores the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to the welfare of its students and their families.
