The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK), has conducted successful airstrikes on a terrorist hideout north of Chiralia in the notorious Timbuktu Triangle.
The precision strikes over the weekend neutralized several terrorists and destroyed three gun trucks, significantly disrupting insurgent activities in the region.
The operation was launched following actionable intelligence from ground troops tracking three terrorist gun trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia. In response, NAF deployed fighter jets for an Air Interdiction (AI) mission. On arrival, NAF pilots identified multiple terrorists and three gun trucks concealed under trees.
The aircraft engaged the targets with rockets and cannons, destroying two vehicles instantly. A follow-up strike eliminated the third truck as insurgents attempted to reposition it. The assault left all targeted vehicles ablaze, with several fleeing terrorists neutralized.
Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed the success of the operation, highlighting the NAF’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and supporting ground forces. He reaffirmed that the NAF remains resolute in maintaining air superiority and enhancing security in the North-East.
