NAF airstrikes repel terrorist attack in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has thwarted a planned terrorist assault on troops stationed in Rann, Borno State, through coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction (AI) missions.

In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation took place in the early hours of August 8, 2025, following credible intelligence on the movement of insurgents.

The OPHK Air Component, working closely with ground forces, identified clusters of fleeing insurgents and engaged them with precision-guided munitions, neutralising several. The swift intervention restored calm to the area and highlighted the NAF’s commitment to providing close air support, protecting troops, and swiftly countering insurgent threats.
