NAF apprehend notorious kidnapper Isah Abdul in Kano

Troops of the Nigerian Air Force stationed at Durbunde in Takai Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State have successfully captured a high-profile kidnapper identified as Isah Abdul, aged 35.

According to Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the operation, conducted on 19 February 2024 at approximately 6:30 PM, was executed with precision following actionable intelligence regarding the whereabouts of the notorious kidnapper and his associates, who have been linked to numerous kidnapping incidents in the region.

He said preliminary investigations indicate that Isah Abdul and his criminal network were behind the abduction of Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, also known as “Sarkin Noman Gaya,” on 6 April 2023, from his residence in Tagaho Village within Takai LGA. The victim was held captive for a month before being released upon payment of a ransom totaling N30,000,000=00.

Additionally, in December 2023, the same group abducted two sisters and three others from the same village, releasing them after extorting a significant ransom. Isah Abdul’s criminal activities extend beyond these incidents, with connections to other notorious kidnapping gangs such as the Danbul Fulaku group, which also operates within Takai LGA.

Isah Abdul is presently under the custody of the Nigerian Air Force, where he is undergoing thorough investigation procedures. Subsequently, he will be transferred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.
