In a strategic move to enhance joint operational effectiveness, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), has launched the first Aviation Fuel Handling and Administration Course for Nigerian Army Aviation personnel.
The course, a milestone in inter-service cooperation, aims to equip Army Aviation officers with critical technical skills in bulk fuel management, aircraft fuelling operations, fuel quality control, and the operation of fuel bowsers—key components of aviation logistics and operational readiness.
This training initiative aligns with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who emphasized the importance of mission-driven capacity building in strengthening Nigeria’s defence architecture. He noted that the course reflects the NAF’s commitment to advancing logistics support as a cornerstone of effective military operations.
The collaboration also underscores AFIT’s role in promoting technical excellence within Nigeria’s defence sector, setting a precedent for unified training efforts across the armed forces.
