The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has unveiled significant welfare initiatives aimed at boosting morale and operational readiness under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar.
At Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Lagos, the CAS commissioned 160 newly remodeled ensuite flats for airmen. He also announced a series of personnel-focused initiatives, including a 100% increase in Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) in the 2025 budget, the launch of a new Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, and the distribution of new uniforms and accoutrements.
Infrastructure and amenities have also received attention, with the CAS revealing an upgraded electricity subsidy for Sam Ethnan Base and new medical equipment for the 661 NAF Hospital in Ikeja. In addition, more than 470 infrastructure projects are underway across the country, with over ₦61 billion invested so far.
“These initiatives underscore our commitment to putting people first—boosting morale, strengthening unit cohesion, and building a professional, combat-ready force,” Air Marshal Abubakar stated.
