NAF investigates alleged civilian casualties after airstrikes in Giwa, Kaduna

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is investigating reports of alleged civilian casualties following an airstrike targeting a terrorist enclave in Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

According to a statement by NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the airstrike was conducted based on credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance of the area, which has been notorious for harboring terrorists for over two years.

The air operation, aimed at reducing banditry, kidnapping, and similar attacks in Kaduna State, was described as successful in disrupting terrorist activities. However, NAF emphasized that it takes reports of civilian harm seriously and is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the facts.

“The Nigerian Air Force is committed to achieving its operational objectives with minimal collateral damage,” Group Captain Ali stated. The findings of the investigation will be communicated to the public in due course.
