NAF seizes chance, destroys gun truck, eliminates eight terrorists in Borno

In the relentless pursuit of eradicating the remnants of terrorists in the Northeastern region, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, operating as part of Operation Hakin Kai, carried out a successful mission on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Their target was a gun truck, which held approximately eight terrorists, located in Baranga Village within the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

Confirming the operation, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, revealed that the opportunity to strike unexpectedly presented itself when two armed terrorists were observed riding a motorcycle along an active trail. Upon the aircraft’s appearance, the terrorists sought refuge within dense vegetation. As the aircraft engaged the vegetative cover, a gun truck housing eight terrorists suddenly emerged, attempting to flee the impending assault.

Gabkwet further disclosed that the NAF effectively engaged and obliterated the gun truck, thereby neutralizing the terrorists within. He pointed out that the remaining terrorists in the Northeast often resort to concealing themselves within thick forests and under the cover of dense vegetation to evade detection by the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Gabkwet emphasized that this successful strike serves as another testament to the unwavering dedication of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in preventing terrorists from freely roaming and indiscriminately attacking law-abiding citizens.
