In a surprising turn of events, Nigerian police authorities in Lagos State have taken Afrobeats sensation Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, into custody for questioning regarding the untimely demise of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad.
Late on Tuesday, Lagos Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest, stating, “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.”
The unfortunate incident occurred on September 12 under circumstances that raised suspicion. Mohbad’s passing was followed by a swift burial the following day, leaving fans and the music industry in shock.
