Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad under the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Department of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged case of physical assault and threat to life in Abuja.
The arrest, which took place on March 22, 2026, was carried out at Trademore Estate in Lugbe, following a formal complaint lodged with the agency. The complaint detailed allegations of battery and intimidation against the victim.
According to NAPTIP, the operation was executed based on credible intelligence. Operatives promptly moved to the location, where the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody for further investigation.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and ensuring that all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, and threats to human dignity are addressed in accordance with the law.
NAPTIP also urged members of the public to report cases of abuse, violence, human trafficking, and related offences to relevant authorities to enable swift intervention.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
