Dr. Aliyu underscored that the survey’s data would provide the government with valuable insights into the systemic challenges faced by various sectors. “The information gathered from the National Corruption Survey will help the government to clearly see the challenges within the systems and develop policies that are tailored to overcoming these issues,” he stated.

The meeting between the ICPC Chairman and the officials from NBS and UNODC signifies a collaborative effort to leverage statistical data in the fight against corruption. Prince Adeniran and Dr. Stolpe reiterated their commitment to supporting the ICPC in its mandate to curb corrupt practices and enhance transparency in governance.

Dr. Oliver Stolpe of the UNODC emphasized the importance of such collaborations, stating, “Partnerships like these are essential in strengthening the integrity of institutions and promoting good governance.”

The National Corruption Survey is expected to cover various sectors, providing a detailed analysis of corruption trends and practices. This comprehensive approach aims to equip policymakers with the necessary information to design effective anti-corruption strategies and interventions.

The initiative is a significant step towards enhancing accountability and transparency in Nigeria, aligning with global best practices in governance. The survey’s findings will be pivotal in shaping policies that foster a culture of integrity and reduce corruption’s impact on national development.
