NCDMB boss Ogbe joins APPO executive board

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has been appointed to the Executive Board of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO).

Ogbe was selected by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, who also chairs the NCDMB Governing Council. With this appointment, Ogbe represents Nigeria on APPO’s board, headquartered in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo.

The appointment was confirmed in a congratulatory letter from APPO’s Director of Support Services, Mrs. Philomena Ikoko, expressing confidence in Ogbe’s ability to drive progress in Africa’s oil and gas sector. “Your appointment is a major call to duty for Nigeria and the continent,” Ikoko stated.

NCDMB has played a pivotal role in shaping local content development across Africa and has partnered with APPO on initiatives like the African Local Content Roundtable (ALCR) and the establishment of the Africa Energy Bank (AEB), which will be headquartered in Abuja. The bank, set to launch in the second quarter of 2025, aims to raise $5 billion to finance oil and gas projects across the continent.

Senator Lokpobiri recently announced that Afrexim Bank has secured $19 billion to support the AEB’s launch, with Nigeria, Angola, and Ghana already contributing their share capital.
