NDLEA declares four drug cartel members wanted over cocaine shipments

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four associates of Lagos drug kingpin, Alhaji Suleiman Ganiu (a.k.a Barryshine, Ejeoto), wanted for their involvement in multiple drug trafficking operations. Barryshine is currently facing criminal charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

According to a statement on Tuesday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the suspects were declared wanted following an order granted by Honourable Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The wanted individuals include:

  • Olarenwaju Abdulai (a.k.a Alhaji Loyingbo)
  • Oluwafemi Abidoye (a.k.a Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya)
  • Olumuyiwa Ilori (a.k.a Murphy)
  • Alate Kafy Bakare of Kaffy Travels

The court’s ruling on January 28, 2025, ordered that their photographs be publicly displayed, as they remain at large.

Barryshine was arrested on August 26, 2024, after two years under NDLEA’s surveillance for his alleged involvement in four failed attempts to smuggle cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, between 2022 and 2024. Many of his drug couriers have since been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted.

The NDLEA urges the public to provide any information on the suspects’ whereabouts by contacting the nearest NDLEA Command, calling the toll-free helpline (080010203040), or sending direct messages via NDLEA’s social media accounts: @ndlea_nigeria (Instagram, X, TikTok), @ndlea01 (Facebook), or @ndleatv (YouTube).
