- Officers to wear body cameras for enhanced operational efficiency
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has promoted 5,042 personnel, with two senior officers elevated to Deputy Commander General of Narcotics (DCGN), 22 to Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN), and 66 to Commander of Narcotics (CN). The promotion, approved by the agency’s Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd), follows a series of examinations and interviews aimed at enhancing staff motivation and welfare.
During a ceremony in Abuja, Marwa also awarded 15 commands and 70 personnel for outstanding performance in the first half of 2024.

He emphasized the importance of prompt promotions and the need for continuous improvement to achieve a drug-free Nigeria. “Our performance justifies our commitment to Offensive Action and WADA reforms,” Marwa stated.
To further enhance operations, NDLEA will deploy body cameras for officers in strategic operations, ensuring both safety and integrity. New barracks in Adamawa, Abuja, and Lagos are nearing completion, underscoring the agency’s dedication to improving work conditions.
Marwa urged officers to maintain integrity, hard work, and transparency, noting the agency’s achievements in dismantling drug cartels and seizing illicit drugs.

He emphasized that any infractions, indiscipline, or corruption would not be tolerated.
Following the ceremony, Marwa held a closed-door meeting with commanders and directors to outline future tasks and expectations.
