NEMA contains fire at MRS filling station in Yola

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at MRS Filling Station in Yola, Adamawa State, on February 4, 2025. Led by Head of Operations Mr. Ladan Ayuba, NEMA coordinated efforts with the Federal Fire Service, FAAN Fire Department, Nigeria Police, ADSEMA, NSCDC, FRSC, and other agencies to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

The fire, which broke out around 7:30 PM, involved two fuel tankers loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and a vehicle. Thanks to the rapid intervention of emergency teams, the fire was successfully controlled, and no casualties were reported.

Damage assessments are ongoing to determine the extent of losses and the cause of the incident. NEMA commended the bravery and professionalism of all responders and urged the public to adhere to fire safety protocols, particularly in high-risk areas like fuel stations.
