NEMA Receives 163 Vulnerable Nigerians Returning from Libya

The Lagos Territorial Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with other key stakeholders, welcomed 163 Nigerian returnees from Libya. The group arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s cargo section at 19:45 hours aboard a Boeing charter flight with registration number 5A-DMG.

The returnees consisted of 88 males, 73 females, and 2 children. They received essential assistance from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), supported by NEMA, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Department of State Services (DSS), Port Health, and the Nigeria Police.

Following their arrival, the returnees underwent profiling and biometrics exercises. They are expected to receive skill training as part of the reintegration assistance provided by the IOM.
