The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially appointed Aliyu Zubairu as the new Head Coach of the Flying Eagles, the country’s National U20 Boys team. The appointment was ratified by the NFF Executive Committee, following a recommendation from the Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
Zubairu, who recently led El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri to a notable victory in the President Federation Cup against Abia Warriors FC in Lagos this June, will take up his new position with immediate effect.
As Head Coach, Zubairu’s first major task will be to assemble and prepare the Flying Eagles for the WAFU B U20 Championship, set to be held in Togo in October/November. The championship will serve as a qualifying tournament for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, where the zone’s representative will be determined.
