The NFF Monthly Awards are designed to celebrate the skill, dedication, and passion displayed by Nigerian players, while acknowledging their exceptional contributions to the sport. The awards will highlight the top performers through three key categories: Player of the Month (Male & Female), Goal of the Month, and Discovery of the Month.
Nomination Process
The selection process for the awards will be thorough and data-driven. An independent organization will analyze players’ performances and statistics throughout the month, ensuring a fair and impartial evaluation. This scientific approach guarantees that the nominations accurately reflect the top-performing players. The first set of nominations will be announced on October 3, 2024.
Voting Process
Following the nomination announcement, the voting process will be open to fans and journalists, creating a truly inclusive event. Fans will vote through the NFF’s official website (www.thenff.com), and their votes will account for 40% of the final decision. The remaining 60% will be determined by industry professionals and journalists, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive outcome. Voting will take place from October 3 to midnight on October 7, 2024.

Speaking on the launch of the initiative, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, emphasized the significance of the awards in promoting excellence in Nigerian football. He stated:
