Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), extends her appreciation to the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) for their steadfast dedication to providing complimentary medical services to Nigerians throughout various states.
Dabiri-Erewa conveyed this sentiment during a reception held at the NIDCOM Lagos Office, where she welcomed the Executive Members of the Association, led by President Dr. Chinyere Anyaogu.
She informed the delegation of the intention of President Bola Tinubu’s Administration to foster more strategic engagement with Nigerian doctors in the Diaspora. She anticipates further collaborations in the near future. Additionally, she lauded the Association and other healthcare professionals for their efforts in establishing world-class hospitals and emphasizing training and capacity building during ANPA’s Convention.
Dabiri-Erewa emphasized NIDCOM’s commitment to collaborating with the Association and encouraged every state in the country to support its endeavors, thereby adding value and effecting change. She expressed optimism for a broader platform, under the Federal Ministry of Health, to enable Diaspora Doctors to contribute significantly to healthcare development in the country. She welcomed the prospect of hosting the 2025 Medical Mission and Convention in Lagos.
Dr. Chinyere Anyaogu, President of ANPA, apprised the NIDCOM Chairman/CEO of the upcoming ANPA Week Medical Mission scheduled to take place in Umuahia, Abia state.
She highlighted that the Association encompasses professionals from diverse medical fields and sought interdisciplinary collaborations with healthcare professionals in Nigeria. Such collaborations are envisioned to facilitate knowledge transfer and enhance the quality of healthcare delivery in the country.
Dr. Anyaogu further detailed that the medical interventions encompass all facets of the healthcare system, with numerous medical professionals participating, placing special emphasis on training and capacity building.
ANPA is a non-profit organization with a vision for ‘a healthier Nigeria and a healthier world.’ This vision is realized through various medical missions and the empowerment of relevant stakeholders to deliver quality healthcare in Nigeria and the global community.
