In a remarkable feat, the Nigeria Customs female basketball team has secured a coveted position to represent the nation in the imminent Continental Championship, scheduled to take place on the 11th of December in Egypt.
This accomplishment follows the team’s triumphant clinching of the championship title in the fiercely contested FIBA Africa Zone 3 competition, where top-tier basketball teams from across the nation converged to vie for supremacy.
The journey to victory for the NCS female basketball team featured commendable performances, including decisive wins against formidable opponents such as the ASPAC Female Basketball Club of Benin Republic and the MFM Basketball Club.
One of the pivotal moments in their journey occurred during the encounter with the ASPAC basketball club of Benin Republic. The Nigeria Customs team showcased their prowess in a compelling display, securing a resounding 65-48 victory (with quarters ending 24-14, 7-9, 21-8, 13-17) in the Africa Women Basketball League Zone 3 qualifiers at the prestigious MO Arena in Abuja.
Adding an official touch to the event, DCG Enforcement Inspection and Investigation, Mohammed Abba-Kura, represented the Customs Service at the championship, standing in for the CGC.
