The Nigeria Police Force has taken custody of fugitive suspect Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, who allegedly abducted and murdered a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her daughter in Osun State.
Fejemirokun, who fled Nigeria after the incident, was handed over to the police by the Ghana Police Service in Accra following a coordinated multi-agency operation. His arrest was facilitated through intelligence sharing and swift action by INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja.
According to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Ghana Police Service apprehended the suspect after confirming he was hiding within their jurisdiction and immediately notified Nigerian authorities. A team from INTERPOL NCB Abuja subsequently travelled to Accra to conclude the handover process.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commiserated with the bereaved family and assured that the investigation would be thorough, promising that the suspect will be arraigned upon conclusion of the inquiry. He also praised the Ghana Police Service for its cooperation and professionalism.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens, pursuing offenders across borders, and strengthening international partnerships in the fight against transnational crime.
