Recent operations conducted by valiant soldiers have yielded considerable successes, including the prevention of attacks, apprehension of suspects, and seizure of arms and ammunition.
Under the directives of the 93 Battalion Sub-Sector 3B OPWS, based on credible intelligence, clearance operations were conducted in Rikwenmakpawere and Alaha villages within Ussa Local Government Area. Responding promptly to an attempted assault in Kweserti village, our troops engaged armed militias with superior firepower, compelling them to retreat.
According to senior military source, two extremists were neutralized during the encounter, and 1 AK-47 magazine along with 7 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition were recovered.
Meanwhile, in Lau Local Government Area, the 114 Battalion Sub-Sector 3C achieved significant progress in countering violent extremism by apprehending two suspected extremists.
Subsequent interrogation of the suspects led to the discovery of additional weapons, including 1 SMG rifle, 1 Single Barrel Gun, 2 AK-47 magazines, and 51 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
