The Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers across the Nigerian Army, aimed at strengthening leadership and enhancing operational effectiveness.
In a statement, Acting Director, Army Public Relations Lieut. Col. Appolonia Anele said the postings affect Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) at Army Headquarters, two General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of training institutions, and Brigade Commanders, among other key appointments.
Major General AA Adeyinka has been appointed Chief of Logistics (Army), while Major General AA Adekeye becomes Chief of Personnel Management (Army). Major General TB Ugiagbe takes over as Chief of Standard and Evaluation, Major General AA Idris assumes office as Chief of Military Intelligence (Army), and Major General MO Erebulu has been named Provost Marshal (Army).
Other notable appointments include Major General EA Anaryu as Corps Commander, Supply and Transport; Major General SA Akesode as Head of Mission, African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, Ethiopia; and Major General JE Osifo as Director General, Nigerian Army Finance Corporation.
In the field commands, Major General ASM Wase has been appointed GOC 1 Division/Commander Sector 1 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, while Major General CR Nnebeife takes over as GOC 2 Division/Sector 3 of the same operation.
Training institutions also received new leadership, with Major General MO Ihanuwaze appointed Commandant, Nigerian Army Finance School and Administration; Major General KO Osemwegie as Commandant, Army Signal School; Major General AJ Aliyu as Commandant, Nigerian Army Ordnance School; and Major General AC Adetoba as Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.
At the brigade level, Brigadier General M Jimoh now commands 1 Brigade, Brigadier General NE Okoloagu takes charge of 2 Brigade, while Brigadier General AA Bello has been appointed Commander, 6 Division Garrison/Sector 3 Joint Task Force South South, Operation DELTA SAFE.
The CoAS urged the newly appointed officers to redouble their commitment in sustaining the fight against terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats, while assuring them of his continued priority for troops’ welfare as the foundation of operational success.
