Nigerian Army troops, deployed for counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the North West region, on April 13, 2024executed a successful ambush resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists and the recovery of arms in Kaduna.
Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, disclosed in a statement that the operation, conducted in Rafin Sariki Village of Giwa Local Government Area, was a swift response to actionable intelligence regarding the presence of armed terrorists in transit.
He said the troops strategically positioned themselves for the ambush and engaged the terrorists in a firefight, resulting in the neutralization of two assailants.
The operation yielded the confiscation of one AK-47 rifle, 52 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and one locally fabricated revolver frame.
Nwachukwu reaffirms the Nigerian Army unwavering commitment to safeguarding the populace and ensuring national security, adding that the Army will persist in taking decisive measures against terrorist activities within the region.
