Nigerian Army troops neutralize terrorists in Kaduna and Niger States

In a series of recent counter-terrorism operations, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Kaduna and Niger States have effectively neutralized four terrorists, inflicting significant setbacks on the marauding groups.

The operations, aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts, also resulted in the recovery of various arms and ammunition.

In Kaduna State, leveraging actionable intelligence, the troops conducted clearance operations around the Rijana Forest. These operations targeted the terrorists’ hideouts in the villages of Amale, Gidan Jatua, Gidan Danfulani, and Gidan Duna. While en route to Gidan Dutse, the troops encountered terrorists at Koko Hill in Rijana Forest. Following a fierce combat engagement, the troops successfully neutralized three terrorists. The operation also led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two motorbikes, two AK-47 magazines, 19 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two mobile phones, and two MP3 players.

In Niger State, the troops executed an ambush operation near Katako village along the Zungeru-Tegina Road, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist. The troops recovered one AK-47 rifle with a magazine containing 29 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Additionally, they seized a GSM handset, N27,800 in cash, two GSM SIM cards, three USB cords, and an assortment of drugs.

These operations reflect the Nigerian Army’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the affected regions.
