The Nigerian Navy has become aware of the existence and dissemination of a fraudulent supplementary list of candidates purportedly associated with the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 35. This misleading information was disseminated by individuals with malicious intent through WhatsApp groups between Friday, November 17, and Monday, November 20, 2023.
According to official statement issued by Directorate of Information Naval Headquarters Abuja, the NNBTS Batch 35 has resumed training, and the spurious supplementary list circulating does not have any legitimacy or connection with the Nigerian Navy. The public is strongly advised to disregard the false information in its entirety.
The Nigerian Navy emphasizes that the fraudulent supplementary list of names did not originate from any official channels of the Nigerian Navy. Therefore, it is imperative for the public to exercise caution and refrain from falling victim to misinformation.
In light of these deceptive actions, the Nigerian Navy sternly warns fraudsters and mischief-makers to cease engaging in such irresponsible activities. The dissemination of false information is not only misleading but also has the potential to cause unwarranted confusion and anxiety among the general public.
The statement added that the Nigerian Navy remains committed to upholding transparency and providing accurate information to the public and any further updates regarding the matter will be communicated through official channels.
