Prof. Anosike emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “I am glad that Prof. Ayuba has a vast knowledge of NiMet’s contributions to nation-building, stemming from diligent research. Our work is crucial for the protection of lives and property.”
He encouraged Bingham University to engage its wider community to create a platform that the partnership with NiMet can leverage for community protection and positive impact. “I wish to assure Bingham University and the Vice Chancellor of our readiness to partner with the university. The partnership terms will be detailed in a memorandum of understanding (MoU). It is also important to emphasize the maintenance of weather stations, data generation, and data transmission,” Prof. Anosike added.
In response, Prof. Ayuba expressed his gratitude for Prof. Anosike’s leadership and outlined the university’s goals for the partnership. “Our visit is to congratulate Prof. Anosike on his appointment as DG/CEO of NiMet and as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). We seek a partnership with NiMet to build a weather observation station, provide student training, staff exchanges, and internships,” Prof. Ayuba stated.
Prof. Ayuba also acknowledged Prof. Anosike’s contributions to the sustainable development of Nigeria, noting his impactful service in various capacities even before his appointment as DG/CEO of NiMet.
