As part of its preparation to migrate to the latest standard ISO 21001: 2018, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), conducted a review of its Quality Management System Manuals on AeroMet, Regional Training Centre (RTC) Oshodi and the Muhammadu Buhari Meteorological Institute of Science and Technology (MBMIST), Katsina.
The excercise was carried out in two phases with the first phase on Review of System Manual for AeroMet on the 18th to the 22nd of September, while the second phase was the Review of System Manuals for RTC and MBMIST and took place from the 25th to 29th September, 2023 in Nasarawa state.
Speaking on the importance of the exercise, the head of QMS Unit, Mr Usman Abdulrahman explained that “Review of System Manual is important in ensuring that the QMS processes and procedures are continuously improving. The Review of system manual was carried out preparatory to migration to latest standard ISO 21001: 2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).”
Mr Abdulrahman further disclosed that the excercise involves three phases namely: System Manual Review, Review of the Quality Processes (QPs) and Forms, which were carried out.
The scope of the ISO registration covers both the Muhammadu Buhari Meteorological Institute of Science and Technology (MBMIST) Katsina and the Regional Meteorological Training Centre (RTC) Oshodi.
