The accolade, bestowed upon Kyari, underscores his pivotal role in steering the company towards success and fostering growth within Nigeria’s energy sector.
Mr. Olufemi Soneye Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Ltd. Abuja said the award ceremony, held at the esteemed Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, saw Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., accepting the honor on behalf of Kyari. The Governing Council of the Energy Times Award Committee lauded Kyari’s unwavering commitment and laudable efforts, citing his significant contributions to the industry’s advancement.
Addressing attendees, Kyari highlighted NNPC Ltd.’s proactive initiatives aimed at transforming Nigeria into a gas-driven economy. Emphasizing the nation’s abundant natural gas reserves exceeding 209 trillion cubic feet, he outlined the company’s strategic endeavors, including the development of critical gas infrastructure such as the OB-3 and AKK Gas Pipelines. Additionally, Kyari underscored NNPC Ltd.’s involvement in regional projects like the West Africa Gas Pipeline and the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, alongside global ventures like Train 7 of the NLNG and Floating LNG Projects.
Furthermore, Kyari articulated NNPC Ltd.’s expansion endeavors in the power sector, positioning the company as a comprehensive energy entity. He elucidated plans for new power plants along the AKK Pipeline corridor in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano, highlighting the groundbreaking ceremony for the 1,350MW Gwagwalada Power Plant conducted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August of the preceding year.
