The Faculty of Science at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is poised to showcase its intellectual prowess with the hosting of the 2024 edition of its Annual Lecture. The distinguished lecturer for this prestigious event will be Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited.
Scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 10 a.m., the faculty lecture is set to explore the theme ‘Energy Security, Sustainability, and Profitability in Nigeria: Advances, Challenges, and Opportunities.’ This academic endeavor aims to provide a distinctive platform for students, faculty, and industry professionals to gain valuable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of the energy industry in Nigeria.
Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, recognized as an industry visionary and leader, has played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of NNPC Limited in recent years. The distinguished lecture will take place at the esteemed Oduduwa Hall of the University. The event will be presided over by the Chairman, Professor Mosadoluwa Adetola Badejo, a former two-term Dean of the Faculty and one-time Vice-Chancellor of Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo (WUSTO).
The Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, will assume the role of Chief Host for the occasion. The Dean of the Faculty, Professor ‘Yinka Adesina, will be the host, ensuring the seamless execution of the event.
