NSCDC arrests 10 suspects over vandalism, kidnapping in FCT

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 10 suspects in connection with alleged vandalism of critical national infrastructure, kidnapping, theft and other related offences across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and neighbouring states.

The arrests were made during a coordinated operation by the Corps’ Commandant-General’s Special Intelligence Squad in collaboration with the CG’s Crack Squad. The operation was reportedly launched following credible intelligence and in line with the operational directives of the Commandant-General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

According to the NSCDC, items recovered from the suspects include vandalised armoured cables and dangerous weapons believed to have been used in carrying out the alleged crimes.

The Corps stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against economic sabotage, the NSCDC pledged its continued commitment to safeguarding lives, public infrastructure and other national assets.
