In a coordinated and highly effective operation, the Special Intelligence Squad (SIS) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully uncovered and dismantled a massive illegal crude oil tapping point in Rivers State. The operation, which targeted a clandestine pipeline network stretching over two kilometers, marked a significant victory in the fight against oil theft in the country.
The illegal operation, carried out by criminals attempting to siphon crude oil from national pipelines, was foiled when NSCDC operatives, acting on reliable intelligence, identified and disrupted the illicit pipeline. During the operation, key exhibits were recovered from the scene, including a locally fabricated T-connector, long extension pipes, and hoses, which were used to facilitate the theft.
