NSCDC, NAF renew collaboration to enhance security in Osun

In a strategic move to address prevailing security challenges, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command and the Nigerian Air Force Research and Development Centre in Osogbo have officially renewed their collaboration. This development was disclosed during the courtesy visit of the newly deployed NSCDC Commandant in Osun, Dr. Akintayo Adaralewa, to the Commandant of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Abiola Amodu.

Commandant Adaralewa underscored the necessity for seamless cooperation among all security agencies in the country to collectively achieve the overarching objective of safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. Emphasizing the significance of synergy, he noted that no single security agency can operate effectively in isolation, hence the imperative to strengthen existing partnerships.

“I am aware of an existing synergy between NSCDC and the Nigerian Air Force; my visit is to key into it for stronger collaboration,” stated Commandant Adaralewa, expressing his commitment to building on the established foundation for more effective joint efforts.

Highlighting the multifaceted responsibilities of NSCDC, the Commandant emphasized the Corps’ role in protecting school children nationwide. He outlined the Safe School initiative, which aims to combat issues such as cultism, drug abuse, and other social vices within educational institutions.

In response, Air Vice Marshal Abiola Amodu, the Commandant of the Nigerian Air Force Research and Development Centre, Osogbo, affirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting and collaborating with NSCDC whenever the need arises. He stressed the collective duty of security operatives in ensuring the nation’s safety, advocating for robust collaboration among all security agencies to enhance the security landscape of Osun State and the nation as a whole.

The renewed collaboration between NSCDC and the Nigerian Air Force signifies a strengthened commitment to fostering security and addressing emerging threats, reflecting a united front in the pursuit of a safer and more secure Osun State and Nigeria.
