The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified its campaign against corruption with the inauguration of new heads of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) and the launch of a strengthened Corruption Prevention Strategy.
The Commandant General (CG) of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Audi, on Wednesday charged the newly appointed ACTU leaders to demonstrate integrity, enforce compliance without fear or favour, and resist undue influence. He urged them to embody transparency and accountability in all operations.
Represented by the Deputy Commandant General (Administration), DCG Adeyinka Ayinla, Audi delivered the remarks at a one-day sensitisation workshop, inauguration ceremony, and integrity award presentation held at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.
Audi said the revamped Corruption Prevention Strategy seeks to curb misconduct, entrench due process, and boost internal discipline across the Corps. He commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for their support in strengthening the Corps’ anti-corruption architecture.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu, warned that corruption undermines public confidence, disrupts development, and weakens national security. Represented by Mr. Olusegun Adigun, he pledged continued collaboration with the NSCDC in promoting preventive anti-corruption measures across ministries, departments, and agencies.

Earlier, Acting Commandant Audrey Obeh, Chairman of the NSCDC ACTU, described the event as a “transformative moment” reflecting the Corps’ commitment to national integrity and development. She praised the CG’s leadership for providing the foundation on which ACTU is thriving.
“The inauguration of ACTU Heads, integrity awards, and the launch of the NSCDC Corruption Prevention Strategy show our deliberate efforts to reinforce accountability within the system,” Obeh said.
The event also featured the presentation of integrity awards to officers and staff for exemplary conduct. CG Audi received the Integrity Champion and Visionary Award, while former ACTU Chairman, Commandant of Corps Remi Ekundayo, was honoured with the Distinguished ACTU Chairperson Emeritus Award.
Other awardees included ASCII Amanze Abraham Onyedikachi, recipient of the ACTU Integrity, Ethics and Compliance Award; and CSC Aremu Rafiu (Kwara Command), CSC Akinwande Adesola Comfort (Oyo Command), SC Umar Abubakar Ladan (Borno Command), and SC Yusuf Ibrahim Yusuf (Jigawa Command), who all received the ACTU Outstanding Performance and Distinguished Service Award.
Representatives of sister agencies—including the Nigeria Immigration Service, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)—also delivered goodwill messages.
