NTAC DG commends new NIA boss on appointment

The Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has congratulated Amb. Mohammed Mohammed on his recent appointment as the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Yakub described the appointment as a testament to Mohammed’s extensive experience and exceptional skills, honed over a diplomatic career spanning more than three decades.

Amb. Mohammed’s professional excellence, Yakub noted, has been recognized throughout his service to Nigeria, including his tenure at NTAC, where he served as both Acting Director General and Director of Programmes. The NTAC DG praised President Bola Tinubu for recognizing Mohammed’s capabilities and making an apt decision in appointing him to lead the NIA.

Yakub expressed confidence that Mohammed, Nigeria’s former Charge d’Affaires to Libya, would leverage his vast experience to excel in his new role and justify the trust placed in him by the President and the nation.

In a letter made available to the media, Yakub stated, “This new feather to your cap is a resounding testimony to your famed capacity and experience as an outstanding diplomat and civil servant, which have become a badge of honor from your years of service to our dear country, including your time with us at NTAC.”

He added, “We pray for wisdom, brilliance, and strength for you to fulfill the expectations of those who have placed their confidence in you.”

Amb. Mohammed Mohammed brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served the nation in various capacities, including at the State House in Abuja, in Islamabad, Pakistan, and most recently in Tripoli, Libya. His appointment follows the departure of the former NIA DG, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
