The Surveyor-General of the Federation, Surveyor Abuduganiyu Adebomehin, recently inaugurated a full-day, hands-on training session focused on Continuously Operating Reference Stations (COR) software for directors within the organization.
The primary objective of this training is to augment the directors’ proficiency in utilizing the COR software, a pivotal tool within their technical skill set. COR, functioning as a GPS station, delivers essential positioning data crucial for surveying and various other applications. Comprising a GPS receiver, antenna, data logger, and communication device, COR can operate continuously or periodically.
Adebomehin urged participating directors to approach the training with the utmost dedication and encouraged them to provide constructive feedback to the instructors, thereby enhancing their grasp of the COR software. Emphasizing the significance of COR, he underscored its role in predicting weather patterns and stressed its essential nature as a technical skill integral to their professional responsibilities.
This training initiative reflects the Surveyor-General’s unwavering commitment, alongside his team, to continually invest in the professional development of the organization’s leadership. By doing so, they aim to ensure that the leadership remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the surveying field.
