Over 2,000 access free healthcare at Kaduna outreach honouring defence chief

More than 2,000 residents of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have benefited from a two-day free medical outreach organised in honour of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR.

The programme, held on September 4 and 5 at the Primary Health Care Centre, Mabuhu Zonzon, was organised by the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation in partnership with the Tukur & Tukur Foundation and the Southern Kaduna Aids Foundation (SKAID).

According to the organisers, a total of 2,062 people received services ranging from free consultations, treatment and drugs, to eye care, ENT services, distribution of reading glasses and mobile clinic support.

Speaking at the event, a representative of His Highness Sir Dominic Yahaya, Agwam Atyap, commended the organisers for bringing essential services to underserved communities. Beneficiaries also expressed gratitude, describing the outreach as a relief for many families.

Medical Director of the General Hospital Zangon Kataf, Dr. Yakubu Titus John, praised the standard of care and quality of medications provided, while organisers reaffirmed their commitment to expanding healthcare access nationwide.

The outreach recorded 301 reading glasses distributed, with common conditions treated including hepatitis B, cataracts, sickle cell disease and dermatitis.
