In a determined effort to elevate Plateau State into Nigeria’s agricultural powerhouse, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has vowed to channel increased resources towards bolstering the agricultural sector.
Governor Mutfwang articulated this commitment during the inauguration ceremony for 22 freshly appointed Special Advisers and 24 liaison officers drawn from the 17 local government areas of Plateau, convened on Monday in Jos.
“Given the prevailing economic circumstances, our focus must squarely be on agriculture. It’s imperative that we prioritize agribusiness and leverage our state’s abundant potential to position Plateau as the agricultural epicenter of Nigeria.
“The global market eagerly awaits our exports of flowers, strawberries, coffee, vegetables, and other produce,” Governor Mutfwang asserted, underlining the urgency of emphasizing agriculture amidst existing challenges.
He underscored the imperative of harnessing Plateau’s fertile agricultural landscape to galvanize economic expansion and progress.
Governor Mutfwang further underscored the pivotal role of peace and security in fostering agricultural pursuits, highlighting his administration’s initiatives to fortify security measures for farmers.
“Peace is indispensable for agricultural activities to thrive, which is why we’ve revitalized the Plateau Peace Building Agency and implemented other measures to ensure the security of our farmers and agricultural investments,” he affirmed.
Extending congratulations to the newly appointed officials, Governor Mutfwang urged them to attract investors to the state and actively contribute to its advancement.
He accentuated the vital responsibility of government appointees in mobilizing resources for developmental projects, urging them to hit the ground running and lend their support to the administration’s endeavors in propelling progress in Plateau State.
