Police arrest seven suspects in Lobito crescent Wuse 2 drug raid in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven suspects during a raid operation at Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, as part of intensified efforts to curb the sale, abuse and trafficking of illicit drugs across the territory.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects, comprising six males and one female, were arrested on September 2, 2026, by operatives of the Maitama Police Division during a targeted operation aimed at disrupting criminal activities in the area.

Police said the suspects were found in possession of various illicit and controlled substances, including dried leaves suspected to be cannabis packaged in small transparent sachets, several tablets of Tramadol, a bottle of Codeine and a black polythene bag containing dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis sativa, among other substances.

The FCT Police Command said the suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court after the completion of investigations.

The Command reiterated its commitment to sustained raids and intelligence-driven operations targeting drug dealers, traffickers and other criminal elements operating within the Federal Capital Territory.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, urged residents to shun drug abuse, trafficking and other forms of criminality, while calling for increased public cooperation with security agencies.

She advised residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, activities or locations to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08028940883.
