The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to a viral video showing some of its officers accepting money from a Chinese national, condemning the act as unprofessional and unethical.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the conduct exhibited by the officers in the video does not reflect the core values, standards, or ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The Force maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards misconduct and other forms of unprofessional behaviour that erode public trust and confidence,” the statement read.
The officers involved have been identified and are currently undergoing disciplinary procedures.
The Nigeria Police also cautioned individuals and organizations who engage police personnel for escort or specialized services to refrain from any actions that may compromise the integrity of its officers or tarnish the image of the Force.
The statement reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to upholding professional standards and restoring public confidence in its operations.
