The highly anticipated second edition of the Police Service Commission (PSC) annual awards ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow, December 19, 2023, at the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters located in Jabi, Abuja.
Head, Press and Public Relations Ikechukwu Ani said the prestigious event is poised to draw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, former Chairmen of the Commission, Directors, and well-wishers of the Commission, creating an atmosphere of celebration and recognition.
During the awards ceremony, the Commission will acknowledge and honor noteworthy individuals, including its dedicated staff, police officers, and other contributors who have played a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing in the country. The seven categories of awards encompass the PSC Appreciation Award, Leadership and Service Award, Prestigious Award for Philanthropy in the Police, Stakeholders Award, Award for Gallantry in the Nigeria Police Force, PSC Pioneer Staff Award, and PSC Staff Award.
Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Commission, assumes the role of Chief Host for the event. Dr. Arase highlighted that the awards ceremony serves as a platform to celebrate excellence within the police sector. He emphasized the Commission’s commitment to recognizing merit and individuals who have demonstrated unwavering support to both the Commission and the Police in the execution of their duties.
In addition to its primary purpose of recognizing outstanding contributions, Dr. Arase noted that the ceremony provides an opportunity for Commission staff and stakeholders to unwind and express gratitude for the blessings and mercy received throughout the year 2023.
The inaugural edition of the PSC Annual Awards Ceremony took place in December of the preceding year, 2022.
