Saudi Arabia has significantly ramped up its humanitarian response to crises in Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan, delivering critical assistance to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations in these regions.
A statement from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria on Thursday detailed that through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), the Kingdom has launched extensive relief efforts in response to ongoing conflict, economic challenges, and displacement impacting millions.
In Gaza, KSrelief has initiated one of its largest relief operations to date amid the humanitarian crisis caused by the Israeli conflict. The center has dispatched over 54 aid planes and 8 ships laden with essential supplies, including food, medical equipment, and shelter materials. Specific resources include 20 ambulances, 30 electricity generators, and 10 water tanks to meet urgent needs, alongside 39,200 ready-to-eat meals for food-insecure families.
Saudi Arabia has also pledged over $80 million in long-term aid for Gaza, in partnership with organizations like UNRWA, WHO, and the Red Crescent. This funding supports critical areas such as food security, healthcare, water, sanitation, and emergency response to promote sustained recovery.
In Lebanon, as the economic crisis deepens amid regional instability, KSrelief has increased its assistance, with 20 aid planes carrying food, medical supplies, and shelter items arriving in Beirut. The Kingdom’s aid aims to alleviate shortages in food, fuel, and healthcare, targeting support for hospitals and medical facilities.
Meanwhile, KSrelief has deployed 13 planes and 31 relief ships to Sudan, where ongoing conflict has severely impacted families. Aid resources totaling over $118 million include food supplies, healthcare equipment, and shelter materials. Saudi Arabia’s support encompasses not only immediate relief but also programs aimed at improving food security and strengthening health infrastructure.
Through these efforts, Saudi Arabia, led by KSrelief, reinforces its commitment to providing urgent humanitarian assistance and supporting long-term stability in Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan.
